Job description
In this role, you will advise internal Google teams on core principles, design policies, and standards to address abuse risks, and enable responsible growth. In addition, you will engage with subject matter experts and cross-functional stakeholders across Google to design thoughtful cross-Product Area approaches on key priorities.
You will grow in a demanding environment where no two days are ever the same. As a critical thinker, you will translate intricate problems into scalable solutions and define precise standards for evolving areas of tech policy. You can balance the legal and regulatory requirements we face around the world with the needs of users, advertisers, creators, and publishers, while upholding the company’s core values.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $111,000-$159,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Anticipate policy issues facing product and technology platforms and develop policies and enforcement recommendations on how to address them.
- Lead, develop, and implement policies for Google products with a view towards user safety, product quality, and privacy.
- Influence product decisions and prioritization and improve user experience for policy-related issues through collaboration with Product Managers, Engineers, and other Trust and Safety (T&S) teams.
- Work with sensitive content or situations and remain prepared for exposure to graphic, controversial, or upsetting topics or content.
- Drive awareness and understanding of our product policies within Google and across our user base through research to set industry standards.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in a policy, legal, trust and safety, or technology environment.
Preferred qualifications:
- JD, MBA or Master’s degree in a technical field.
- Experience with the ads ecosystem or ad technology.
- Understanding of Artificial Intelligence/Large Language Model (AI/LLM) systems and aligning policy frameworks with product and engineering teams.
- Ability to translate issues into simple and clear language, collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, and navigate organizational boundaries.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in an ever-changing environment.
- Excellent written, presentation, and communication skills.
