Job description
Google's line of products and services to our clients never stops growing. The Partnerships Development team is responsible for seeking and exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Equipped with your business acumen and extensive product knowledge, you are right on the front line of interacting with our partners, and helping them find ways to grow using Google's newest product offerings. Your knowledge of relevant verticals and relationships with key industry players will help shape our great applications and content for products such as YouTube, Google TV and Commerce.
In this role, you will lead partnerships that directly shape our product roadmap, deepen ecosystem interoperability, and accelerate growth of the Google for Education business. You will operate across a portfolio of products and initiatives (e.g., Google Classroom, Gemini for Education, Workspace for Education, Read Along, and go-to-market efforts) and work cross-functionally to define partnership strategy, enable collaborations, inform product direction, and drive artificial intelligence adoption. You will also execute high impact agreements that enhance the quality of our products, enable learning and education in the context of artificial intelligence, and allow us to reach hundreds of millions of students and teachers globally.
Responsibilities
- Drive partner strategy, including working with product, technical teams, and go-to-market to understand product and business strategy, conducting partner/industry research, and driving alignment on prioritization based on data-driven criteria.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with partners, from the C-Suite to day-to-day working teams including: understanding partners’ business and product strategy, identifying new opportunities for collaboration and influencing direction of the partnership, and managing active agreements and projects.
- Leverage subject matter expertise and knowledge of the ecosystem, education, and EdTech trends, and insights/feedback from partners to influence the product roadmap and cross-functional team priorities.
- Shape development, go-to-market, growth, and commercialization strategy for Google products in the education sector.
- Discuss first-in-kind partnerships and manage execution across partner product, marketing, and go-to-market teams, leading and making decisions amidst cross-functional, organizational, and industry complexity.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in partnerships, business development, management consulting, or investment banking, with experience in education or education technology.
- 2 years of experience working in higher education or with higher education institutions in a partnerships, sales, or management consulting role.
- Experience working with C-level executives and cross-functionally across all levels of management.
- Experience managing agreements or partnerships.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree or other advanced degree.
- Experience with artificial intelligence.
- Experience in education or education technology, preferably in a partnerships, product, or strategy role.
- Experience working with external partners and developer/platform ecosystems.
- Excellent people-management and communication skills to formulate and articulate business, product, and technical concepts.
This role may also be located in our Playa Vista, CA campus.
