Job description
Whether you're on a consumer product (like Gmail, Search, Maps, Chrome, Android) or a business product (Google Ads, AdSense, Google Marketing Platform, Analytics), you take part in a complete marketing experience as you lead every facet of the product's journey. From determining positioning, naming, competitive analysis, feature prioritization and external communications, you help shape the product and help it grow a consumer base. This means you work with a cross-functional team across Sales, corporate communications, legal, webmasters, product development, engineering and more. In this role, you'll be involved with product marketing strategy from beginning to end.
Know the user. Know the magic. Connect the two. At its core, marketing at Google starts with technology and ends with the user, bringing both together in unconventional ways. Our job is to demonstrate how Google's products solve the world's problems--from the everyday to the epic, from the mundane to the monumental. And we approach marketing in a way that only Google can--changing the game, redefining the medium, making the user the priority, and ultimately, letting the technology speak for itself.Responsibilities
- Architect and scale the unified narratives transforming technical product capabilities into a compelling, customer-solution-led platform story.
- Lead and mentor an integrated team of marketing professionals, providing strategic direction for key programs like "Why Google Cloud" and "Google AI at Google".
- Own the core "Source Code" for messaging, ensuring every technical asset and product demo serves as a consistent proof point for the master narrative.
- Formalize a scalable coaching engine that offers narrative translation, "Smart Brevity" frameworks, and storytelling training to Product Marketing Managers.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to curate business impact stories and showcase internal AI use cases that build market credibility.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 13 years of experience in marketing, working across one or more marketing fields (i.e. growth, product marketing, brand marketing, social).
- Experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
Preferred qualifications:
- 10 years of experience in product marketing, portfolio marketing, or strategic communications within the technology industry.
- Experience leading and managing a team of marketing professionals.
- Experience driving enterprise-level messaging and narrative strategy for complex technical portfolios.
Applicants in San Francisco: Qualified applications with arrest or conviction records will be considered for employment in accordance with the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers and the California Fair Chance Act.
