The Delivery Experience Speed Tech (
DEX Speed Tech) team is redefining fast delivery for millions of Amazon customers worldwide—enabling “need-it-now” convenience through innovative programs and technology. We build and
launch customer-facing innovations across sub-same day (
SSD) and ultra-fast delivery services, working at the intersection of software, fulfillment, and retail operations.
As an SDE 2 on the
DEX Speed Tech team, you'll develop customer-facing features for sub-same day (
SSD) and ultra-fast delivery services. You'll work in a dynamic environment where your code directly impacts customer experience and delivery operations.
Key job responsibilities
1) Design and implement scalable software solutions for Speed delivery tracking and notifications
2) Collaborate with
cross-functional teams to build customer-facing features
3) Write clean, maintainable code with appropriate test coverage
4) Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions
5) Debug production issues and implement improvements
6) Contribute to team's technical documentation
7) Mentor junior engineers on the team
A day in the life
You will be part of setting the team culture, quality bar, engineering best practices, and norms. Delivering iteratively to customers and earning trust with your team will be the primary ways you measure your own success. Recognizing that there's often more to learn from failure than success, you'll experiment constantly. You will build full-stack solutions as needed, including front-end and back-end. You will architect, code and build scalable systems, and know that if a challenge is not a little scary, it’s probably not worth doing.

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns,
reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- 1+ years of designing and developing large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded, embedded or distributed software applications, tools, systems, and services using:
C#,
C++,
Java, or
Perl experience
- Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of general AI tools

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
