DESCRIPTION:
Join us as a Senior Director/General Manager to lead one of our strategic business units at Thermo Fisher Scientific. In this key role, you'll develop global portfolio strategies, define innovation roadmaps, and lead market expansion while managing a comprehensive P&L. You'll oversee product development and commercialization across instruments, consumables, and solutions that enable groundbreaking scientific research and clinical applications.
Working with cross-functional teams, you'll develop and execute business strategies to achieve growth and profitability targets. You'll partner closely with R&D to advance new product development, collaborate with business development on strategic partnerships and acquisitions, and ensure successful commercialization through our global sales and marketing teams.
This role offers the opportunity to create meaningful impact by leading product innovation, enhancing operational excellence, and developing high-performing teams. You'll build strategic relationships with key opinion leaders and customers while working to expand our market presence and deliver solutions that help our customers make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience across product management, marketing, business development, or sales roles
• Preferred Fields of Study: Business, Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related scientific field
• Additional relevant certifications in business or scientific disciplines welcomed
• 5+ years of general management experience with P&L responsibility
• Demonstrated success managing $200M+ business segments
• Demonstrated success in developing and executing business strategies
• Experience leading global, cross-functional teams in matrix organizations
• Deep understanding of product commercialization processes for research and clinical markets
• Proven ability to build and implement strategic product roadmaps
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for market analysis and forecasting
• Excellence in building relationships and collaborating across organizational boundaries
• Strong communication and presentation skills at the executive level
• Experience in regulated environments preferred
• Ability to travel 25-30%
• Strong talent management and team development capabilities
• Leadership style that promotes inclusion and innovation
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Connecticut is $212,000.00–$300,000.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
