enterprise sales efforts with prominent universities in Boston. This is a unique opportunity to work with forward-thinking academic leaders who are shaping the future of education through technology innovation.
As our Account Executive, you'll leverage your
enterprise sales expertise and technical acumen to accelerate cloud transformation in higher education. You'll develop deep relationships with faculty, business leaders, and IT decision-makers while positioning
AWS services as the foundation for innovation and research, student experiences, and operational excellence. This field-based role offers the chance to be part of something bigger - enabling institutions that educate tomorrow's leaders to achieve their most ambitious goals through cloud technology.
Key job responsibilities
Drive revenue growth and market share expansion across assigned higher education accounts, meeting or exceeding quarterly sales targets.
Develop and execute comprehensive account strategies that align
AWS solutions with university priorities in research, education, and operations.
Build and maintain strategic relationships with C-level executives, faculty leaders, IT decision-makers, and procurement teams across complex organizational structures.
Create compelling value propositions around
AWS services, including AI and
machine learning capabilities that support academic research, university operations and student success initiatives.
Collaborate with Solutions Architects,
Customer Success Managers, and Higher Education specialists to deliver tailored cloud solutions and accelerate customer adoption.
A day in the life
Your days will be spent on-campus building relationships and uncovering opportunities to drive cloud transformation. You'll meet with university leaders to understand their strategic initiatives, from advancing research capabilities to enhancing student experiences. Working closely with your Solutions Architecture team, you'll craft presentations for faculty committees and participate in technical discussions about AI applications in education. You'll also coordinate with internal specialists to address specific challenges, whether it's supporting innovative research projects or streamlining campus operations through cloud services.

Customer Success Managers, and Higher Education and Research specialists who work together to deliver exceptional outcomes for academic institutions.

- 3+ years of technology/software sales experience
- Bachelor's degree
- Knowledge of and experience with cloud infrastructure technologies
- Direct experience selling into Higher Education or research institutions.
- Understanding of university research computing, university procurement models, or academic governance structures
- Experience navigating decentralized organizations with federated IT decision-making

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments, restricted stock units (RSUs), and sales incentives. Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
