As a Partner Engineering Manager (PEM), you will lead and deploy a team of Partner Engineers (PEs) responsible for understanding the technical capabilities of partners and effectively recommending the right partner and solutions to customers. In this role, you will lead the effort to enable partners across technologies and solutions. You will contribute to customer adoption of Google Cloud by supporting the Partner Engineering team as they illustrate how Google Cloud services can help customers innovate, bring their services to market faster, differentiate against the competition, and create new business growth streams. You will help partners succeed in the proof-of-concept, migration, and deployment phases, ensuring they have full access to Google Cloud’s artifacts, tools, templates, and best practices.Google Cloud accelerates every organization’s ability to digitally transform its business and industry. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $192,000-$267,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Partner Engineers and build a growth culture while focusing on talent strategy and skills development to deliver on successful cloud transformation outcomes for partners and customers and accelerate business goals for territory.
- Support Partner Engineers to enable system integrator (SI) and Independent Software Vendors (ISV) partner technical teams skills, capabilities, and capacity through prototyping and product integrations and guiding customers through assessments.
- Develop partner technical development plans aligned to annual planning and drive technical wins Systems Integrator and Independent Software Vendor partners aligned to customer opportunities.
- Collaborate with ISV/SI partners to develop solution documentation, joint technical articles, webinars, whitepapers, demos and build solution-focused technical assets.
- Recommend Google cloud integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure for partner solutions.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience with cloud native architecture in a customer-facing or support role.
- Experience with technical conversations, demos, prototyping, or workshops with customers.
- Experience with managing a cloud engineering, on-premise engineering, or security engineering teams.
- Leadership experience (e.g., people management, team lead, mentorship, coaching).
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience as a pre-sales manager or technical customer-facing people manager within a professional services or sales engineering team.
- Experience engaging with, and presenting to, technical stakeholders/executive leaders (e.g., delivering compelling messages by audience, asking strategic questions, leading conversations that drive accelerated value realization and business opportunity).
- Experience driving delivery and consumption plans for complex, cross-pillar cloud solutions.
- Experience managing a team through sales processes, operations, and career development, including account mapping, quota setting, performance management, and managing sensitive information.
- Experience building strategic business partnerships.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
