The Disney Experiences Technology team is responsible for the end-to-end digital and physical Guest experience for all technology and digital-led initiatives across the Attractions & Entertainment, Food & Beverage, Resorts & Transportation, and Merchandise lines of business as well as other initiatives including the MyDisneyExperience app and Hey, Disney!
This role plays a critical part in the transition of Warehouse Management Systems from implementation into sustained production operations. Responsibilities span go‑live readiness, post‑implementation stabilization, hypercare support, and the establishment of long‑term operational ownership for newly delivered capabilities. This role will also be a key point of contact for the Distribution Services teams across DX properties.
A successful candidate is highly collaborative, effective in a matrix organization, comfortable working autonomously, and experienced operating in complex production environments. This role serves as a subject matter expert for Warehouse Management Systems and ancillary systems, acting as a liaison between business, vendors, and technology teams while supporting production operations, enhancements, and backlog prioritization.
The Senior Systems Engineer reports to the Manager, Software Engineering.
Be accountable for uptime, recoverability, and operational readiness of warehouse production systems.
Own the health, stability, and performance of live production applications.
Support implementation and go‑live activities, ensuring systems are production‑ready and supportable.
Participate in an on-call rotation leading incident response, triage, and service recovery
Serve as the technical escalation point for complex production issues.
Facilitate deep root cause analysis across application, integration, and infrastructure layers.
Drive accountability for SLAs, feature delivery, release execution and issue resolution with external vendors.
Perform hands‑on technical analysis when required to accelerate vendor troubleshooting and resolution.
Create, maintain, and improve runbooks, diagnostics, and operational documentation.
Balance short‑term remediation with long‑term system stability and operability improvements.
Lead transition‑to‑support activities, including knowledge transfer, operational documentation, and stabilization following deployment.
Develop and maintain configuration and asset records within Service Now.
Proactively identify systemic risks and recurring issues and drive operational improvements.
At least 5 years of experience supporting large-scale, business‑critical production systems.
Proven incident response and escalation leadership experience.
Strong troubleshooting skills across distributed systems.
Experience supporting vendor‑provided or Commercial Off‑the‑Shelf platforms.
Ability to operate effectively under pressure during live production incidents.
Strong written communication skills for incident updates, executive communication, and postmortems.
Experience supporting cloud‑hosted production systems on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Demonstrated ability to drive resolution of complex, high‑impact operational issues.
Comfortable diagnosing issues across compute, networking, storage, and system integrations.
Experience supporting Warehouse Management Systems or similarly complex, highly integrated Commercial Off‑the‑Shelf (COTS) platforms.
Familiarity with Agile delivery practices.
Availability to work within a 24x7/365 schedule with advanced notice
Hands‑on experience supporting Blue Yonder Warehouse Management System in a production environment.
Experience working within ITSM and ITIL‑aligned service management models.
Experience using ServiceNow or comparable service management tools.
Experience working in Scrum and Kanban environments using tools such as JIRA.
Proven experience driving accountability and corrective action through managed services vendor relationships.
Experience supporting supply chain, logistics, or warehouse operations environments.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a comparable field, or equivalent practical experience
