Job description
We're seeking someone who thinks strategically about long-term value, builds trusted relationships with internal and external partners, and communicates the power of smart sourcing decisions to leaders at all levels. You'll work across diverse business units and supplier relationships to optimize performance, quality, and efficiency while ensuring we're making decisions that benefit our customers, employees, partners, and the world.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop and execute global sourcing strategies that align with business plans, goals, and objectives across multiple business lines and spend categories, leveraging supplier relationships to optimize performance, quality, efficiency, and cost.
- Build and maintain trusted partnerships with internal business leaders and external suppliers by establishing enduring relationships, developing deep commodity knowledge, and understanding strategic priorities and requirements across the organization.
- Conduct competitive analysis and supplier evaluation using industry cost models, benchmarking data, and spend pattern analysis to inform sourcing strategy development and identify opportunities for optimization.
- Drive sourcing outcomes through the strategic use of requests for proposals, bid evaluation, contract analysis, negotiations, and supplier consolidation to deliver measurable results and value.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including business, finance, Legal, Tax, Risk, and Information Security to identify savings opportunities, mitigate third-party risks, and optimize total cost of ownership and return on investment.
A day in the life
In this role, you'll focus on developing and executing strategic sourcing initiatives across categories like Real Estate & Facilities, Design & Construction, Integrated Facilities Management, and associated services. You might start your day analyzing spend patterns and supplier performance data to identify optimization opportunities, then transition into a meeting with internal business partners to understand their evolving needs and priorities.
You'll spend time evaluating supplier capabilities and competitive positioning using industry benchmarking and cost models to inform your strategy development. Collaboration is central to your work—you'll engage with Legal, Tax, Risk, and Information Security teams to assess third-party risks and develop mitigation strategies. You'll also facilitate negotiations, conduct bid evaluations, and work with finance leaders to quantify savings and return on investment. Throughout the day, you'll serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, helping them understand how strategic sourcing can solve their business challenges and support their goals.
- Experience in an indirect procurement function at a multinational corporation
- 5+ years of relevant strategic sourcing including vendor negotiations, global contract management, process improvement, operational and financial analysis experience
- 5+ years of experience managing spend categories in Real Estate & Facilities including: Design & Construction, Integrated Facilities Management, and associated Hard/Soft Services (Food & Beverage, Janitorial, Mail room, MRO, Transportation, etc.) - Bachelor's degree, or Master's degree
- Experience translating customer needs into business requirements
- Ability to assess risk and concisely explain complex issues to principal business owners
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to quickly synthesize, distill and draw conclusions on large amounts of disparate data
- Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects requiring frequent communication, organization, time management, and problem-solving skills
