Job description

Amazon Legal is seeking a talented Associate Compliance Specialist to join our Global Public Sector Legal Compliance team. This position will serve as a key contributor to the Amazon-wide public sector compliance program — supporting various requirements and contributing to innovation and efficiency across Amazon. You will support public sector matters including procurement regulations, post-government employment, political law, gift compliance, and organizational conflicts of interest across multiple jurisdictions in the U.S. and internationally.

Key job responsibilities
• Support Public Sector Compliance team activities across a range of matters, including procurement regulations, post-government employment review, political law, gift compliance, and organizational conflicts of interest
• Assist in identifying and implementing AI-enabled process improvements to drive efficiencies for compliance initiatives
• Help draft, maintain, and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) and internal guidance documents; assist in ensuring materials remain current as regulations, policies, and business needs evolve
• Support compliance filing and documentation requirements, maintaining accurate and organized records in support of program operations and audit readiness
• Assist in preparing regular compliance reporting, including tracking program metrics, deadlines, and deliverables for leadership and senior team members
• Help draft and send compliance communications to business partners — including FAQs, how-to guides, training materials, and program summaries — and respond to business questions with guidance from senior team members
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on trainings, projects, and compliance issues; support business teams in making communications and training more effective
• Assist in ensuring regulatory guidelines are implemented and help develop plans for applying legal requirements to business operations
• Identify and escalate legal issues with guidance from senior team members; support review of legal conclusions and policies prior to implementation

A day in the life

You'll collaborate closely with attorneys and cross-functional stakeholders, adapting quickly as priorities shift in a fast-paced, global environment.
