Job description

Patreon is a media and community platform where over 300,000 creators give their biggest fans access to exclusive work and experiences. We offer creators a variety of ways to engage with their fans and build a lasting business including: paid memberships, free memberships, community chats, live video, and selling to fans directly with one-time purchases.

Ultimately our goal is simple: fund the creative class. And we're leaders in that space, with:

  • $10 billion+ generated by creators since Patreon's inception

  • 100 million+ free memberships for fans who may not be ready to pay just yet, and

  • 25 million+ paid memberships on Patreon today.

We're continuing to invest heavily in building the best creator platform with the best team in the creator economy and are looking for a Staff Product Designer, Creator Insights & Intelligence to support our mission.

This role is based in New York or San Francisco and open to those who are able to be in-office 2 days per week on a hybrid work model.

About the Team

We're hiring a Product Designer to lead design for Creator Insights & Intelligence, shaping how creators understand and act on their business performance data. You'll design the insights experiences and data visualizations that help creators see what's working, identify opportunities for growth, and make well-supported decisions about their creative businesses. Your work will empower creators to grow their audiences, optimize their content strategy, and build sustainable businesses on Patreon.

You'll work on launching new product surfaces powered by intelligence that empower creators with expertise and best practices to make better decisions. Your work will directly influence how hundreds of thousands of creators understand and grow their businesses on Patreon.

About the Role

  • Lead design for insights and analytics experiences that help creators understand their business performance and take action to grow.

  • Help creators make sense of complex business metrics with digestible and durable mental models that creators trust and use daily.

  • Design tools and touch-points that help creators identify what's working, spot opportunities, and make well-supported decisions about their content and membership strategy.

  • Partner closely with Product, Engineering, Content Design, and Data Science to define what insights matter most to creators.

  • Create compelling ways to surface actionable recommendations and best practices within the product.

  • Partner with user researchers and data scientists to understand how creators use — or struggle with — their business data to inform your design direction.

  • Define a clear design approach when requirements or constraints are not yet fully established.

  • Iterate on designs based on user feedback and data to continuously improve the insights experience.

  • Produce polished, production-ready work in visual design, data visualization, and interaction design across insights experiences.

What you'll need

  • 7+ years of product design experience, or equivalent demonstrated through portfolio and shipped work, with a focus on consumer-facing digital products, including products designed for creators, sellers, or others who produce content or services on a platform.

  • Proven experience designing analytics, dashboards, or data visualization products that help users make better decisions.

  • Strong visual and interaction design skills, with demonstrated ability to simplify complex information.

  • Demonstrated ability to think systematically and create design solutions that scale.

  • Comfortable working with quantitative data and translating metrics into meaningful design direction.

  • Track record of working effectively across Product, Engineering, and Data Science — evidenced by shipped work with cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Portfolio demonstrating shipped work with clear outcomes and user value.
