The Marketing Operations Manager will manage email template development and production support for a high-volume CRM and lifecycle marketing operation.
This person will lead a team responsible for building, maintaining, and scaling reusable email templates, supporting campaign execution, improving production reliability, and reducing operational risk across complex marketing programs.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in email production, template development, marketing technology, and production support. They should be comfortable leading technical teams, partnering with engineering and marketing stakeholders, managing incidents, improving QA processes, and building scalable operational systems.
Lead and manage a team responsible for email template development, campaign production support, and operational issue resolution.
Own the development and maintenance of modular, scalable, reusable email templates across multiple campaign types, regions, and business needs.
Partner closely with Marketing, Product, Engineering, QA, Analytics, Privacy, and Operations teams to ensure campaigns launch accurately, reliably, and on time.
Build and improve production support processes, including intake, triage, escalation, incident response, root-cause analysis, and prevention planning.
Establish clear SLAs, operating rhythms, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms to improve
Identify recurring production issues and partner with engineering teams to address systemic platform, workflow, or template problems.
Coach and develop team members, create clear ownership models, and raise the technical and operational bar for the organization.
Communicate clearly with senior stakeholders during incidents, escalations, roadmap discussions, and operational reviews.
10+ years of experience in email production, CRM operations, lifecycle marketing, marketing technology, production engineering, or a related field.
Experience managing email template developers, production operations teams, support engineers, or technical campaign teams.
Strong understanding of HTML/CSS email development, modular template systems, dynamic content, personalization, localization, and QA processes.
Experience leading production support, incident management, root-cause analysis, and operational improvement programs.
Strong cross-functional leadership skills with the ability to influence engineering, marketing, QA, analytics, and business stakeholders.
Ability to balance execution speed with quality, reliability, risk management, and long-term scalability.
Strong communication skills, especially in high-pressure production or executive-facing situations.
Experience in a large-scale consumer technology, media, subscription, e-commerce, or digital services environment.
Experience with enterprise CRM platforms, internal campaign tools, ESPs, audience platforms, or marketing automation systems.
Experience building operational dashboards, issue taxonomy, or campaign health reporting.
Experience managing distributed teams, vendors, or offshore development partners.
