Meta is seeking a Supply Chain Engineer to join the Infrastructure Supply Chain and Engineering (ISCE) team to focus on operations and planning optimization for all of Meta's infrastructure (Servers, Data Centers, Network) supply chain. This role will focus on optimizing supply chain operations and plans at various levels to balance capacity, flexibility, supply capability, and cost, from base components through manufacturing to finished goods, in an environment of continual product introduction, directly managing billions of investment annually. We will do this primarily by building software and mathematical optimization models, not manual spreadsheets.
This role is very cross-functional and provides an opportunity to work with supply chain partners and a variety of engineering and business teams to power the rapid growth of Meta's products. This role will help to ensure optimal deployment and operation of our infrastructure from both a cost and technology perspective, with millions of servers, gigawatts of data center capacity, and cutting-edge technology including advanced AI.
Responsibilities
- Own infrastructure supply chain planning and operations for Meta (as part of Meta's overall capacity plan): including servers, network, and data center equipment from components through manufacturing to finished goods
- Design improvements to software systems to optimize supply chain operations efficiency and quality, partner with software engineers to implement and contribute code yourself
- Develop and analyze business and technical data and scenarios to solve complex supply chain problems and drive decision-making
- Build mathematical models to perform simulation and optimization studies of supply/demand projections, scenario planning, and gap closure analysis while balancing constraints, product mixes, and costs
- Contribute to end-to-end supply chain processes (as part of Meta's overall capacity plan), methodologies, and data to deliver an executable and optimized supply plan
- Manage and resolve critical escalations and exceptions in all areas of the supply chain
- Work cross-functionally to define problem statements, collect data, build analytical models, and make recommendations to drive change and optimization at the most strategic levels
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience
- 6+ years of experience in designing and implementing models, optimization algorithms, operations research, industrial engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in coding/scripting languages such as Python, R, Java, C, C++, PHP
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain management — planning, manufacturing, operations, inventory, etc
- Experience working with distributed systems at scale
- Experience in infrastructure operations and technical infrastructure knowledge
- Experience with planning or optimization or modeling or performance analysis
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Experience managing ambiguity Track record of applying AI or automation tools to improve planning workflows, forecast accuracy, or supply chain visibility
- Familiarity with statistical forecasting methods or demand planning tools applied to infrastructure or hardware supply chains
- Experience with data center infrastructure supply chains, including server hardware, networking equipment, or storage systems procurement and deployment planning
- Experience using business intelligence or data visualization platforms to build supply chain reporting and capacity coverage dashboards
