APPLE INC has the following available in Cupertino, California and various unanticipated locations throughout the USA. Research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Analyze user needs and develop software solutions, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis. Creating groundbreaking technology to build testing and automation capabilities into the software and the development process to deliver quality at scale for Apple Media Products Apps and Services. Designing, programming, debugging and modifying software related to a cloud-based macOS application. This involves implementing algorithms and working with data structures to develop automation tools for Apple Media Products across multiple Apple Platforms. More specifically, coding in Swift to develop the back-end and user interface for a testing tool, coding in JavaScript and bash to develop a robust compiler for the testing automation tool, working with internal automation frameworks and languages to support automation on device, maintaining and making regular changes in the software to ensure the tool stays up to date with new versions of Apple devices. Creating dashboards to report usage analytics about the automation tool to higher management. This includes using SQL to query Postgres databases to identify growth areas for localization of Apple Media Products. Analyzing data to derive inferences that can help drive improvements for user-facing features. Visualizing data with Tableau to make it more understandable and useful for users. Collaborating with clients and helping deliver automation scripts that can perform comprehensive test flows on devices that test for the correctness of each User Interface element on all applications across platforms in all supported languages globally. Creating appropriate documentation about individual software pieces that make up the tool for easy on-boarding of clients using the tool. Creating relevant architecture diagrams for better understandability for demonstrating the tool to other teams. Performing regular user requirement gathering meetings about how the manual process of testing could be made 100% automatic in a way that is easier for non-technical users to perform. Following Agile software development practices to work on the user requirements to develop a highly modularized code with each component performing a specific function. 40 hours/week. At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $187,741 - $272,100/yr and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience and/or education must include:
Creating Frontend for applications
Designing Bash Scripts for performing on device functions
Developing the backend for macOS using data structures and testing frameworks
Managing SQL database and querying data to derive user data insights
Visualizing data from database and creating succinct dashboards for story telling and reporting
Using Machine Learning for Swift to derive insights for image data generated using testing tool
Incorporating Artificial Intelligence Models and algorithms to develop a chatbot assistant to provide users with context aware text information
Following Agile Methodologies to create requirements and design documents to address user features
