Are you inspired by invention? Is problem solving through teamwork in your DNA? Do you like the idea of seeing how your work impacts the bigger picture? Answer yes to any of these and you’ll fit right in here at Amazon Robotics. We are a smart team of doers who work passionately to harness the latest advances in robotics and software to solve real-world challenges that will transform our customers' experiences. We invent new improvements every day.
We are Amazon Robotics and we will give you the tools and support you need to invent with us in ways that are rewarding, fulfilling, and fun.
Amazon Robotics empowers a smarter, faster, more consistent customer experience through automation. Amazon Robotics automates fulfillment center operations using various methods of robotic technology including autonomous mobile robots, sophisticated control software, language perception, power management,
computer vision, depth sensing,
machine learning, object recognition, and semantic understanding of commands.
Amazon Robotics has a dedicated focus on research and development to continuously explore new opportunities to extend its product lines into new areas.
Amazon is building the next generation software, hardware, and processes that will run the global network of fulfillment centers that move many millions of units of inventory, and ensure that customers get what they want when we promised. We do this by building automated solutions to handle things that technology does well, while relying on people to handle things that humans do well. We are constantly innovating in the ways we are automating and accelerating the delivery of products and packages which includes building custom hardware and applying robotics, autonomy, supply chain optimization,
machine learning, manipulation, image processing, and
real-time data processing using
distributed systems.
We are seeking a talented and solutions-oriented Reality Capture
BIM and Design Engineer to deliver transformational innovation across Amazon's fulfillment network. In this role, you will collaborate closely with field engineers, hardware engineers, system engineers, and
cross-functional teams to accelerate the productivity of automation deployment and elevate hardware design quality.
Key job responsibilities
- Own and execute complete 3D/
BIM workflows from scan-to-model — including modeling, meshing, clash detection, report generation, and feature extraction of physical facilities — through cross-team coordination and program delivery
- Address complex spatial challenges spanning mechanical, electrical, structural, fire protection, and HVAC domains using Forma (ACC), Revit, Dynamo, Grasshopper, AutoCAD, Navisworks, ReCap, and Cyclone 3DR in 3D environments
- Lead coordination meetings with
cross-functional deployment teams to mitigate installation errors and clashes
- Manage stakeholders and run meetings; recommend design changes to optimize deployment timelines and construction costs
- Classify and
segment point cloud data using advanced manipulation tools; build and maintain automated pipelines to scale processing efficiency across multiple sites and programs
- Produce trade-space studies, quantitative feasibility models, scalable automation pipelines, and parametric design tools for robotic deployment
- Develop deployment simulations to validate installation sequences and material movement path analysis to identify spatial conflicts prior to field execution
- Optimize 2D and 3D design workflows and operational processes; independently develop automated scripts and net-new tools to eliminate manual bottlenecks
- Maintain organization and management of 2D and 3D project documentation, including coordination notes and design files
- Develop standardized survey packages and reusable templates to support scalable automation deployment across sites
- Maintain and enforce QA/QC procedures to ensure consistency and quality of deliverables
- Support field on-site scanning and process/register 3D LiDAR data
- Travel up to 50%
