As Principal Engineer, you will drive and execute the technical strategy for Google Search's critical Health engineering space. This is essential to Google because it directly and critically impacts user trust, safety, and the long-term continued utility of Search in the high-stakes health information domain.
In this role, you will utilize expertise in technical architecture decisions, ability to analyze into unique systems (e.g., Search, Ads, Gemini model stacks), distributed systems, and product Integration (i.e. cross-product areas) and work on fast moving problems that transcend technical areas like personalization with policy/legal/regulatory compliance aspects. You will build a core Health team within Search and work across a horizontal engineering group across Search and the company. You will contribute to the long-term strategy for Search and influence Google DeepMind (GDM) and be fully accountable for the strategic direction, cost, methods, and overall performance of the Health engineering organization.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $307,000-$427,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
