In this position, you will be responsible for driving the capacity modeling and planning process for cloud infrastructure to support applications, including customer-facing services like iCloud, Maps, Siri, and Media. You’ll be part of a small team dedicated to investigating and modeling capacity requirements across cloud services, working with cross-functional business partners to ensure infrastructure scales efficiently. In this role, you will:
Design, build, and maintain advanced capacity models that translate service demand into precise infrastructure requirements, driving actionable insights for deployment strategy.
Model capacity with deep uncertainty, running scenario analyses and simulations to provide insights that drive decisions even when input variables are constantly moving.
Develop strategies for optimizing infrastructure capacity, including buffer sizing, utilization efficiency, inventory positioning, and liability management.
Work closely with infrastructure software development platform teams for ongoing enhancements to automate capacity models, reducing reliance on manual planning tools.
Integrate various capacity planning practices to ensure capacity models used across larger properties leverage comparable methodologies, tools, and process flows.
Use quantitative analysis to recommend large-scale capacity investments and procurement decisions to leadership.
Manage risks, schedules, and stakeholders to successfully launch infrastructure capacity programs supporting a wide array of Apple services.
Drive process improvements and develop new tooling to support scalable capacity management processes.
