Our Intelligence, Safety, and Signals team is looking for a Signals Intelligence Specialist to help analyze, detect, and disrupt networks of criminal scammers around the globe. You will enjoy working with a dedicated law enforcement-facing team within the technology sector, and have access to cutting-edge technology designed to detect nefarious online activities. This role is highly cross-functional and will be expected to work with teams across the company to identify key trends in the law enforcement space that can make the platform safer.
Responsibilities
- Use existing data to identify large networks of nefarious actors and activity
- Regularly provide well-researched and thorough analysis on emerging trends to executive-level stakeholders and law enforcement counterparts
- Provide technical and thought leadership on designing, prototyping, implementing and automating complex analyses
- Use existing insights, and develop an agenda to unearth new ones, to drive engagement with law enforcement or other strategies to prevent or mitigate real world harm
- Support the development of pipelines and data infrastructure to support the creation of dashboards
- Create analytic notebooks using artificial intelligence to empower other analysts with advanced analytics capabilities
- Plan and conduct end-to-end analyses, including gathering requirements and processing and modeling data, and preparing leadership communications on emerging scam networks and archetypes
- Influence cross-functional teams through presentation of data-based recommendations
- Develop quantitative metrics to help surface insights from structured datasets
- Develop and maintain a network of information sources that will provide compelling insights and foresight into emerging news-worthy developments
Minimum Qualifications
- 8+ years experience researching, investigating, and analyzing trends related to various online harms
- 2+ years experience developing and maintaining relational databases
- Background in conducting data analysis using large databases
- An understanding of programming languages underpinning our artificial intelligence work such as Python and/or SQL
- Experience in threat investigation/threat intelligence work in a major government or technology company
- Extensive experience in developing and delivering written and oral communications tailored to diverse audiences to analytic counterparts, technical audiences, senior leaders, and policymakers
- Understanding of artificial intelligence and machine learning methods
- Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with technical and non-technical counterparts across large organizations in order to solve difficult problems
- Experience performing social network analysis Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
- Experience developing processes for sharing information and analytic insights across large organizations
- Understanding of legal processes used by law enforcement agencies
- Understanding of basic cyber fundamentals such as TCP/IP and the OSI Model
- Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
- Experience in counterterrorism or combatting organized criminal networks
- Degree in computer science, computer engineering, data science, or at least 2 years of equivalent work experience
- Experience working on financial fraud and scams issues
- Experience using artificial intelligence systems to improve detection and enforcement of adversarial networks
- Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
