Position: Facilities Maintenance Engineer
Location: Middleton, Wisconsin
Department: Facilities
This is a fully onsite role based at our GMP Lab in Middleton, Wisconsin. We welcome applicants from all locations within the US. Position Summary:
In this role you'll lead facility engineering-driven maintenance and improvement initiatives, manage critical building systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment. This role focuses on driving reliability, performance, and continuous improvement across facility infrastructure, with opportunities to implement innovative solutions that enhance operational effectiveness.
Role Responsibilities:
Lead troubleshooting of complex system failures across electrical, mechanical, and controls systems
Drive root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions for recurring system issues
Serve as the maintenance point of contact and liaison for capital and continuous improvement initiatives, partnering with Facilities, Projects, and Compliance to support site upgrades, expansions, and infrastructure improvements
Drive execution of facility improvement and reliability work across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and controls systems, ensuring alignment with maintenance strategy and operational needs
Act as technical lead and subject matter expert for maintenance engineering
Establish and improve preventive and predictive maintenance strategies
Identify and eliminate single points of failure in critical systems (e.g., controls, utilities)
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to maintenance staff and contractors
Partner with Quality and EHS to maintain compliance with internal and external standards
Ensure all work aligns with GMP, quality, and regulatory requirements
Daily operational support and other duties as needed or assigned.
Key Requirements:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of relevant experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job
Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field
In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role.

Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and other platforms
Solid oral and written communication skills
Basic understanding of building systems (mechanical, electrical, security, etc.)
Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, mechanical and/or light general construction may be required
Ability to effectively interact with all levels of the organization and outside vendors
Positive attitude and ability to work well with others
May require knowledge and understanding of computerized maintenance and work order systems
May require a strong understanding of security systems
Knowledge of facility systems: mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and automation strongly preferred
Experience in GMP or regulated environments preferred
