DESCRIPTION
The Materials Planner II role is a visible position at the Madison, WI site. You will be a key contact in Madison related to communication to the site and scheduling the ship plan, including maintenance in SAP. This position will be collaborating with team members in Supply Chain – Buyers, Supply Planner and Inventory Control personnel, Product Management, Manufacturing Engineering and Operations, R & D, Sales, Service and other Thermo Fisher sites around the world.
WHAT WILL YOU DO?
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor's Degree with minimum 2-3 years of experience OR Associate's Degree with 4-6 years in planning or supply chain, preferred in a related manufacturing environment
• Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management and/or Industrial Engineering in related field.
• APICS certification preferred.
• Six Sigma Green/Black Belt certification preferred.
• Experience in ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred, Oracle, JDE or similar).
• Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and data analysis tools.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities for inventory optimization and planning.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• English language proficiency required, additional languages beneficial.
• Knowledge of inventory management principles and supply chain best practices.
• Experience with Practical Process Improvement (PPI) methodologies.
• Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders.
• Self-directed with strong organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of ISO or other relevant quality standards preferred.
