Job description

We are looking for a deeply capable engineer who has a strong background in web services development and who has built high-performance, scalable, and extensible systems. You will have the opportunity to work with other teams from across the company, across a variety of disciplines, while delivering functionality that millions of our customers depend on.

5+ years of developing web services in a professional environment, or equivalent experience.

Expertise with Java, including core Java, concurrency, non-blocking IO, gRPC/protocol buffers, performance tuning, and so forth.

Ability to architect layered and complex systems, defining API boundaries with high-quality APIs, with an emphasis on microservices, separation of concerns, and scalability.

Great communication and collaboration skills.

Ability to thrive in a multi-functional team on projects that have a high impact to both users and to Apple.

Proficiency with agentic coding assistants.

Experience with distributed databases.

At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 and $302,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.

Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
