The Core Sensors and Drivers Architecture team provides the frameworks and infrastructure that enable 1st and 3rd party developers to create drivers for macOS and iPadOS. We are seeking a highly skilled software development engineer who possesses both large-scale and detail-oriented thinking to assist in the design, debugging, analysis, and development of Apple’s operating systems, particularly in the realm of driver technologies.
Work with a highly skilled engineering team in the design, implementation, and support of kernel driver frameworks. The role includes interacting with multi-functional teams across Apple to bring state-of-the-art kernel and security enhancements to Apple's products. The position will focus on areas such as IPC, kernel, and user space drivers, scheduling, and so on. Engineers also use various debugging tools and techniques to identify system issues and improve quality.
Solid understanding of Operating System implementation fundamentals
Proficient with C or C++
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent knowledge and experience
Thrives in a collaborative environment and can clearly communicate technical details
Experience debugging/testing software spanning multiple layers
Experience in Swift
Proficiency in ARM assembly language
