The primary focus of this role is to maximise value recovery from decommissioned IT hardware by identifying opportunities that are not currently being captured. This individual will operate at the sub-component level, with a particular focus on identifying recoverable items within assemblies — for example, individual chips or other high-value elements that may not be visible at a higher-level disposition review. The role will span the full lifecycle from opportunity identification through to implementation, working cross-functionally to turn findings into operational outcomes. Findings and recommendations will feed into the broader value recovery strategy owned by the NPI Coordinator. As the programme matures, the scope of this role may evolve to support broader value recovery and reverse logistics initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
Assess components and assemblies recovered from rack demanufacturing and other sources to identify untapped value recovery opportunities
Identify recoverable sub-components across a range of hardware types, including proprietary and third-party OEM products
Work cross-functionally with Operations, Systems, Engineering, and Commercial teams to operationalise value recovery opportunities from concept through to implementation
Support the development of workflows and processes to capture identified value at scale
Document findings, maintain records of recovery opportunities, and track progress against identified initiatives
Contribute to other value recovery, reverse logistics, or related projects and tasks as assigned by management
