As a Strategic Partner Development Lead for Laptop AI
Partnerships, you will drive the strategy and execution of
partnerships to bring Google’s advanced AI capabilities and services to the broader personal computing ecosystem. In this role, you will lead the development of partner engagement models and distribution frameworks across external operating systems and platforms. You will sit at the intersection of business development, corporate strategy, and product integration, navigating a dynamic market landscape to build a sustainable, long-term ecosystem.
Initially, your focus will be highly foundational collaborating closely with internal
cross-functional product, engineering, and business teams to map out ecosystem incentives, business generation strategies, and technical integration roadmaps. Over time, you will transition into leading high-impact, external-facing initiatives, managing key relationships, and executing landmark distribution and optimization agreements with premier, System-on-Chip (SoC) partners, major Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and other partners.
The Global Partnerships organization is responsible for exploring new opportunities with Google's partners. Google’s Global Partnerships team works with a wide range of partners to bring the best of Google to power their business. The Global Partnerships team supports Google’s own Product teams with essential partnerships to help Google’s user experiences in advertising, Search, Assistant, Maps, Travel, Shopping, Payments and more. Teams create product-enabling partnerships, go-to-market strategies and incubate business growth for a variety of products.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$204,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Develop the overall engagement strategy, business models, and ecosystem incentive frameworks to distribute and monetize Google AI services (including Gemini) across personal computing platforms.
- Conduct market analysis to map the personal computing ecosystem, identifying key leverage points across original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), Silicon/System-on-Chip (SoC) partners, and hardware providers and ISVs
- Partner with internal stakeholders across Google Cloud, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Legal to align complex internal roadmaps and serve as a central point of contact for personal computing AI initiatives.
- Collaborate with silicon and hardware partners to execute agreements for the on-device optimization of AI models required to run Google apps and services efficiently.
- Drive broader distribution initiatives, establish commercial business cases, and execute necessary agreements with OEMs and platform partners to scale Google’s AI reach.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 7 years of experience in business development, product partnerships, management consulting, corporate strategy, or product management, or 5 years with an advanced degree.
- Experience managing cross-functional initiatives across multiple internal stakeholders and business units.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience navigating personal computing, software service, or hardware ecosystems, including working with OEMs or silicon manufacturers.
- Experience transitioning from a product management or technology strategy role into a partnerships environment.
- Experience aligning cross-functional leadership and influencing executives with excellent communication skills.
- Understanding of the AI/ML landscape and the dynamics of distributing software services on third-party platforms.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and navigate issues.
- Excellent investigative skills, with a track record of designing business models, business generation strategies, or ecosystem frameworks.
