DESCRIPTION:
The Sr. Procurement Sourcing Specialist is responsible for owning and driving end-to-end sourcing strategy and leading execution of key initiatives across Indirect categories within LSG.
This role operates as a senior individual contributor, accountable for shaping category strategies, aligning stakeholders, and delivering measurable business impact. The role will partner with and provide guidance to Sourcing Specialists (Band 6) who support execution, ensuring rigor and consistency across sourcing activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and define category sourcing strategies for Indirect spend across LSG, aligned with business priorities and financial targets
- Lead execution of strategic sourcing initiatives, coordinating support from Band 6 resources while maintaining accountability for outcomes
- Lead complex negotiations and supplier engagements, securing optimal commercial and contractual terms
- Act as a strategic partner to stakeholders, translating business needs into sourcing strategies and actionable plans
- Oversee and guide RFP/RFx processes, ensuring strong design, execution, and supplier evaluation
- Provide direction and guidance to Band 6 Sourcing Specialists supporting sourcing execution
- Drive supplier strategy and relationship management for key vendors, including performance, risk, and value delivery
- Lead contract lifecycle strategy and oversight, including governance, compliance, and risk mitigation
- Perform advanced cost modeling, scenario analysis, and benchmarking to inform sourcing decisions
- Own and deliver measurable P&L impact, including savings, cost avoidance, and value creation
- Drive continuous improvement of sourcing processes, tools, and best practices across LSG
Functional & Technical Skills
- Deep expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier strategy development
- Strong experience leading complex sourcing initiatives across Indirect categories
- Advanced negotiation skills with demonstrated success in high-value agreements
- Strong knowledge of Indirect spend categories (e.g., Services, IT, Facilities, Clinical Services, etc.)
- Experience with ERP systems, spend analytics, eSourcing tools, and contract management platforms
- Ability to translate data into insights and actionable sourcing strategies

This role operates as a senior individual contributor, leading strategy and key initiatives while partnering with and guiding junior team members supporting execution.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's Degree plus 6 years of experience in procurement/sourcing
• Master's degree preferred
• Preferred Fields of Study: Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field
• Project Management certification desired
• CPSM, CPIM, or equivalent procurement certification preferred
• Demonstrated expertise in strategic sourcing, category management, and supplier relationship management
• Strong analytical and financial acumen with ability to develop business cases and drive cost savings
• Project management capabilities and experience managing complex, global initiatives
• Proven negotiation skills and ability to influence in matrix environment
• Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and project management tools
• Experience with ERP systems, spend analytics, and e-sourcing platforms
• Strong communication and presentation skills for engaging stakeholders at all levels
• Ability to work collaboratively across global, cross-functional teams
• Experience in life sciences, biotech, pharmaceutical or regulated industries preferred
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.)
• Travel 10-50% as required by role
• Fluency in English required; additional languages beneficial
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-value projects simultaneously
• Experience with supplier quality management systems and regulatory compliance
Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $103,100.00–$154,700.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
