Position Details:
As an Application Architect within the Enterprise Platforms and Systems team, you will work across functions to ensure the Innovation, Architecture, and Infrastructure (IAI) organization has the technology to meet the needs of Abbvie. Working with manufacturing and finance teams, you will build plans defining our technology journey. You will create different architectural views to support the organization's ability to make decisions, design solutions, and deliver value. You will be a member of the Agile Architecture community within IAI, working with a community of architects to support and improve how we work together to create value for Abbvie.
In this role, you'll be responsible for:
Developing and supporting the in-depth technical expertise and direction on the architecture and technology needs of the platforms and applications within the Innovation, Architecture, and Infrastructure technology ecosystem.
Supporting the development of digital capabilities across the BTS Innovation, Architecture, and Infrastructure organization
Partnering with various business stakeholders, technology leads, architects, engineers, and partners.
Operating as the subject matter expert
Enforcing and advocating secure, safe, and compliant architecture and technology solutions.
Operating as the subject matter expert in application design, software development, and application architecture.
Tools and skills you will use in this role:
Architecture modeling and software design using Archimate, UML, BPML, or similar modeling languages.
Experience using Agentic frameworks and tooling including Claude, Codex and Open Code
Architect and design solutions in a hybrid environment, on-premise and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Architect and design enterprise integration solutions
Partner and collaborate to build understanding, trust, and influence.
Leverages software development and delivery skills in cross-functional teams.
Practicing agile and Continuous improvement.
Software engineering using CI/CD tooling.
