Senior Engineer Manager, Hyperdisk IO Performance

As a Software Engineering Manager you manage your project goals, contribute to product strategy and help develop your team. With technical and leadership expertise, you manage engineers across multiple teams and locations, a large product budget and oversee the deployment of large-scale projects across multiple sites internationally.

Persistent Disk, Google Cloud’s block storage solution, provides reliable, storage solutions for even the most latency sensitive and high throughput workloads. Google Cloud's Titanium architecture provides reliable, secure, and high-performance access to storage for all workloads on GCE VMs. In this role, you will be building a team that will delivering world-leading performance for Google's Hyperdisk family of products.

Responsibilities

• Lead other managers and executive individual contributors to develop a bold roadmap and organize the team to deliver it.
• Partner with and influence Director-level and above stakeholders from various organizations across the company.
  
• Lead the team with empathy and support each individual to grow in their role.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
• 5 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.
• 5 years of experience in distributed storage (e.g., cloud storage, object stores).
• Experience with storage as a service and machine learning.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization.
