This role is part of Alcon's Marketing function, a team that helps provide access to products across all channels, including through traditional Marketing strategies, event planning, and professional education.The Sr. Manager, Surgical Product/Brand Marketing - Downstream (Management Path) is primarily responsible for setting marketing strategy, achieving brand financial targets, and managing brand development initiatives for surgical products. You will lead product launches, develop marketing plans, and oversee product lifecycles while representing the company in international marketing groups.
Specifics Include:
• Define and refine product strategy in collaboration with local management and global marketing
• Develop comprehensive brand strategy, promotional campaigns, and tactical plans within budget
• Lead market research programs and provide detailed market insights for surgical products
• Identify and analyze market opportunities through customer interactions
• Monitor and report on product market status and competitive environment
• Implement and oversee tactical plans and projects, ensuring strategic alignment
• Execute central and regional marketing activities, ensuring consistency with overall strategy
• Oversee product lifecycle, ensuring marketing support for sales objectives
• Monitor product performance and external environment using advanced tools
• Lead cross-functional brand team, ensuring collaboration and adherence to guidelines
• Develop promotional activities in line with internal SOPs and Code of Conduct
• Monitor and control brand budgets, forecasts, and expenses, enhancing ROI
• Develop and execute marketing investment plans, aligning with financial targets
The Sr. Brand Manager executes brand strategies, develops go-to-market and localized marketing programs, and manages Clinic Retina product lines. Key duties include optimizing products, pricing, promotion, positioning, launch readiness, and forecasting. The role also drives marketing to meet revenue and market share goals, analyzes trends, supports product development, and oversees promotions.

1. Brand Strategy Execution: Responsible for activating and executing in-market brand strategies and campaigns. This includes developing go-to-market commercial programs, localizing marketing materials to convey the brand message to customers, making media buying decisions, and supporting IIT for launched brands to drive sales results.
2. Marketing Management: Assist in planning and managing assigned Retina product lines through all facets of marketing. This encompasses product and portfolio optimization, pricing, promotion, positioning/targeting, launch readiness, and forecasting.
3. Revenue and Market Share Goals: Assist in managing marketing programs and business plans to achieve product portfolio revenue, operating income, and market share goals.
4. Strategic Planning: Formulate and review corporate short and long-range plans, goals, and objectives for specific product lines.
5. Market Analysis: Analyze market research to understand market dynamics, brand behavior, competition, and various customer stakeholders. This helps identify trends and future opportunities.
6. Marketing Execution: Execute marketing strategies and tactics to ensure effective product placement relative to market opportunities.
7. Product Development Collaboration: Work closely with product development teams throughout the entire lifecycle of the brand.
8. Promotion and Advertising: Provide appropriate promotion and advertising to deliver core brand equity.
9. Technical Advising: Serve as a technical adviser to cross-functional partners, demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot problems and offer insights on possible solutions.
10. Salesforce Training: May also participate in training the salesforce on commercial components and promotional strategies.
