Amazon is looking for a smart, motivated, and self-driven Instock Manager to join our Global Purchasing Program (
GPE) — Amazon's first centralized procurement function that is revolutionizing how we do direct imports for emerging countries. This role offers end-to-end business ownership of a import supply chain: from consolidating global demand across multiple retail stores into a single purchase order, receiving products at origin in China, and distributing inventory across 12+ destination countries spanning North America, Europe, MENA, and APAC. You will develop and implement inventory management strategies that directly unlock selection for hundreds of millions of customers who otherwise couldn't access top products at competitive prices.
The Program
GPE is not your traditional Direct Import channel — it's a strategic, high-growth initiative with triple-digit YoY growth that solves one of Amazon's biggest global challenges: enabling emerging markets to reach vendor MOQs (Minimum Order Quantities) by consolidating demand across the globe. With multiple vendors onboarded,
GXD nodes across China and expanding into new origin locations,
GPE allows vendors to onboard once and offer to all countries through a single PO — eliminating the need for multiple Vendor Central accounts, catalogues, and redundant processes. Amazon absorbs risk at origin, ensures full on-time payments, and delivers improved production planning for global demand. This is supply chain innovation at its most impactful.
The Role
This individual will partner with various teams across Amazon (Operations, Global Logistics, Supply Chain Technology, SCOT, Retail, and Finance teams) as well as external vendor partners to support critical new business initiatives and drive continuous improvement across our global procurement operations. The scope includes Hardlines and/or Consumables categories, managing inventory health at both
GXD (Global Cross Dock) facilities and destination Fulfillment Centers across multiple countries.
Who You Are
The successful candidate is an innovator, communicator, influencer, and problem solver who takes a data-driven approach to solve complex problems across our global imports supply chain. You possess superb business judgment, with a track record of strong project delivery and relationship management, deep analytical acumen, and experience generating and managing forecasts, reports, and analyses.
You thrive in ambiguity and move fast. You are highly analytical, flexible, action and results oriented, self-starting, and comfortable with databases and analytical tools. You can work autonomously in a fast-paced, highly demanding environment where you'll be building the playbook as you
go.
Since this position involves working with multiple stakeholders across countries and time zones in one of Amazon's fastest-growing global opportunities, we need someone with strong
stakeholder management capabilities, great bias for action, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while managing several projects simultaneously. This position provides opportunities to influence high-visibility, high-impact areas throughout the organization — from how we forecast global demand to how we build containers and deliver to each country.
Location
The position is based in Seattle office.
