DESCRIPTION:
You'll be part of an innovative team advancing our mission to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer. As an EHS Specialist III - Environmental Professional, you'll provide expert guidance and leadership in environmental health, safety, and sustainability programs across the organization.
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) professional to support and enhance environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives at our Florence, SC site. This role partners closely with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain robust environmental policies, procedures, and programs that align with regulatory requirements and company standards.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in engineering or environmental sciences, along with experience or exposure to EHS practices, ISO standards, and matrixed organizations. Key responsibilities include performing complex air emissions calculations (e.g., HAPs and VOCs), implementing air quality compliance programs that includes Title V & MACT requirements, preparing environmental reports (including TRI submissions), and overseeing waste management and wastewater operations.
This position requires strong analytical, technical writing, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to interpret and apply governmental regulations. Success in this role depends on effective collaboration with internal stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and external partners, along with a commitment to accuracy, continuous improvement, and fostering a strong EHS culture across the site.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Advanced degree plus 2 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of experience in EHS in manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or chemical industry settings
• Preferred Fields of Study: Environmental Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related technical field
• Professional certifications preferred: CHMM, PE, ASP, CSP or equivalent industry credentials
• EHS Certificate or advanced degree in related discipline advantageous
• Safety/environmental certifications as required for position
• Comprehensive knowledge of applicable EHS regulations, standards and management systems (EPA, ISO 14001/45001)
• Strong technical expertise in environmental compliance including air quality (Title V, MACT, and RMP requirements), hazardous waste management (RCRA, LQG), and wastewater treatment operations.
• Knowledgeable in chemical safety, hazardous materials, industrial hygiene, and emergency response
• Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs and leading environmental initiatives
• Ability to participate in risk assessments, incident investigations, and audits
• Excellent project management and problem-solving skills
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities with all levels of the organization
• Proficiency with EHS software systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong communication and team skills vital for working with EHS Department counterparts, facility contacts, customers, suppliers, contractors, trade associations, governmental agencies and various departments within the company.
