Job Title: Associate Director – LVA Strategy and Innovation

Organization Overview:
The LVA Innovation and Operations team owns the development, implementation, and measurement of transformation roadmaps for new or enhanced capability requirements prioritized as part of the LVA 2.0 long-term strategy. Critical capability areas include innovation, consumer experience, as well as LVA’s data and technology foundation. Successful execution will help grow Lilly’s direct business with end customers, accelerate the pace of learning, enable data-driven decision-making, and embed a consumer-centric mindset across the LVA organization.
Responsibilities:
The role of the Associate Director – LVA Strategy and Innovation is to accelerate innovation execution across LVA’s priority capabilities of consumer experience, business model innovation, and improving its data and technology foundation. This individual must maintain both a heavy internal and external focus – seeking out new solutions to evolving consumer and stakeholder challenges in alignment with brand priorities, while finding ways to improve LVAs internal processes through AI and other technological efficiencies. This position will also play an agile role on the team, flexing to support Strategy and Innovation initiatives across pillars as needed based on business need.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
• Assist in development of strategy and roadmap for LVA consumer experience
• Build infrastructure for consumer experience listening to mechanisms to understand a consumers’ lived experiences with Lilly medicines and disease states
• Partner to develop a data ecosystem to understand and predict consumer experience with Lilly medicines and services
• Lead projects to pilot consumer experience improvement opportunities. Help scale successful pilots into core capabilities.
• Engage with brands and other stakeholders to understand their priorities and mutual areas of interest to improve consumer experience.
• Measure, assess, and refine processes for pilots and other key initiatives.
• Partner across Lilly USA to support business model innovation to address challenges for patients and other stakeholders
• Demonstrate knowledge of Lilly’s and LVA’s vision, mission, business strategies/goals. Understand Lilly’s products and pipeline, the science behind them and how they can bring value to the customer. Know Lilly’s position in each therapeutic area and the supply chain for the continuum of therapies. Understand the broad range of stakeholders and the roles they play. Show knowledge of Lilly’s myriad resources and how to access them fully when needed. Understand Lilly’s compliance requirements and Lilly-required processes.
• Display knowledge of Lilly’s competitors, including marketplace and customer-specific strategies and goals, competitive products and pipeline, the science behind them and the value they bring to the customer.
• Continuously seek opportunities to improve Lilly’s people, systems and processes. Identify, test, measure, codify and share key learnings by following predefined processes, identifying opportunities, and implementing improvements.
• Maintain an external focus to understand shifting industry dynamics, consumer behaviors and challenges, and emerging vendors/technologies to proactively source potential partnership opportunities that advance strategic objectives.
• Partner with LVA stakeholders to understand internal challenges, identify opportunities to drive efficiencies via AI integration or other mechanisms, and facilitate collaboration with Tech@Lilly to implement key AI initiatives
• Champion a learn it all mindset to drive effective and compliant AI adoption across LVA to improve internal processes
The complex, rapidly changing healthcare environment requires the Associate Director – LVA Strategy and Innovation to be a passionate, honorable, agile learner who is both accountable and adaptable as they help innovate across LVA 2.0 capability pillars. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and tenacious, with demonstrated skills in leading without authority, working across multi-functional teams, written and verbal communication, collaboration/teamwork, influence, compliance, solving problems, and building trust.
The Associate Director – Strategy and Transformation must collaborate closely with key business functional partners including LVA, brands, CEH, LillyDirect, Employer, Legal, Lilly Greenhouse, and Tech@Lilly, and finance to ensure alignment and identify opportunities towards a common goal. This position report to the Sr. Director – LVA Consumer Experience on the LVA Innovation – Capabilities and Operations Team.
Basic Qualification:

Additional Skills/Preferences:
• At least 3 years of marketing/industry experience, preferably consumer marketing
• Demonstrated leadership, collaboration, and influence skills
• Market access expertise; relevant experience in payer marketing and/or LVA
• Experience building and acting on behavioral economic principles, championing meaningful innovation, working with internal and external partners to advance or deploy capabilities, and embracing measurement and analytics
• Market research experience
• Experience working through ambiguity to drive deliverables
• Strong communication skills and ability to simplify complexity
• Entrepreneurial mindset

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$132,000 - $193,600Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
