Products such as Vertex AI and Vertex AI Search comprise a portfolio that spans the needs of Data Scientists, Developers, and overall Infrastructure. We not only provide customers with state-of-the-art ML models, such as Gemini, but also full ML model building/serving toolsets (i.e., MLOps) and management workflows to enable customers to turn ideas into high-quality production AI solutions across verticals on Google’s industry leading infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Manage the team to navigate deep technical problem spaces in Cloud AI.
• Manage a small team of developer productivity engineers.
• Build cross-functional partnerships, and work closely with developers and product owners to identify productivity, production quality, coverage issues, and provide insight on improving both through scale and tooling.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Experience in developer productivity, developer tooling, or infrastructure functions.
• Experience with AI and machine learning technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science.
• 20 years of professional experience in software engineering.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, software development lifecycle, and experience driving engineering excellence through rigorous testing, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
• Ability to understand the technical and operational challenges that engineers face within large organizations.
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate complex technical concepts and work with senior stakeholders across different departments.
• Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement of development practices and processes.
