MGM Studios is seeking an experienced Theatrical PR Manager to work closely with the Head of International Theater PR to help shape and execute theatrical PR strategy for Latin America, Australia/New Zealand and
APAC. This role will develop and execute comprehensive publicity strategies for all theatrical releases while working closely with PR teams and agencies in market. You will serve as the point of contact for PR teams across these regions, working closely with our US team on overall campaign strategy, messaging and filmmaker/talent relations. The ideal candidate will bring extensive knowledge of the Australian/New Zealand, Latin American and
APAC entertainment and media landscapes, and a proven track record of delivering successful theatrical publicity campaigns that drive cultural conversation and box office results.
Key job responsibilities
• Partner with the Head of International Theatrical PR to develop strategic publicity campaigns for
all theatrical releases in Australia, New Zealand,
APAC and Latin America and translate into
detailed, market-specific plans for each release.
• Create and execute corporate communications strategy around Amazon
MGM Studios'
theatrical business expansion globally
• Orchestrate press junkets, talent appearances, and premiere events with team members in
market
• Provide strategic counsel to US-based leadership and
cross-functional partners on cultural
nuances and market-specific opportunities across both territories
• Develop messaging and provide issues management support for talent, filmmakers, and
corporate spokespeople
• Monitor and report on campaign effectiveness, media coverage, and marketplace dynamics
across ANZ
• Develop cohesive regional festival strategy and cultural partnerships in concert with global
teams
• Manage theatrical publicity budgets across all territories with a focus on efficiency and ROI
• Collaborate with
cross-functional teams including marketing, social, digital, and distribution
• Present campaign strategies and results to internal stakeholders and external partners
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members and agency partners
- 7+ years of recent professional communications or public relations experience
- Experience dealing with high profile talent
- Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership
- Bachelor's degree or industry equivalent experience in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
- Entertainment publicity experience in global campaign management across LatAm, Australia/New Zealand and
APAC; with at least 5+ years of experience in theatrical publicity
- Strong knowledge of media outlets, entertainment journalists, critics, festival programmers, and cultural organizations
- Experience managing agency relationships and publicity budgets
- Proven ability to develop corporate messaging and storytelling for business initiatives
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- 8+ years of theatrical publicity experience Experience at a major studio, entertainment company, or leading PR agency
- Established relationships with talent agencies, talent publicists, festival directors, and exhibition
- partners across the region
- Crisis communications and issues management experience
- Deep understanding of the evolving media landscape and global cultural trends
- Experience working across theatrical and streaming windows
- Proven track record of budget management, reporting, and delivering measurable results
- Experience managing or mentoring team members
- Genuine love of film and pop culture Understanding of box office metrics and the global theatrical marketplace
- Experience working across multiple territories or markets
- Multilingual capability across one or more languages relevant to LatAm and
APAC regions

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
