Whole Foods Market is seeking a sharp, driven, and analytically minded Sr Program Manager to join our
Pricing Strategy team. You will own the evolution of our
pricing strategy program — translating
pricing science, market dynamics, and business performance data into strategic recommendations that shape how we price for our customers.
This is a high-visibility role with real impact from day one. As AI and other macro themes accelerate the pace of our work, you will help define what's next for
pricing strategy at Whole Foods Market. You will bridge what our
Pricing Science team can provide with what Category
Pricing and Merchandising teams need — influencing leaders on
pricing rules, guardrails, and strategic direction. You will develop multi-year outlooks, guide tool development, and direct and coach 2 analysts while maintaining hands-on analytical depth.
We are looking for someone with a strong foundation in retail merchandising and
pricing strategy who can operate at both the detail and strategic levels. They extract meaningful insights from complex data, build partnerships across teams, and drive change through influence. They distill complex findings into concise narratives for a range of audiences.
Pricing strategy is a strategic priority at Whole Foods Market. You'll have the opportunity to shape how we think about
pricing across the business — with the resources, data, and leadership support to make a real difference.
Key job responsibilities
- Own and evolve the
Pricing Strategy program — set multi-year direction, manage team priorities, and deliver end-to-end from analysis through implementation
- Bridge
Pricing Science, Category
Pricing, and Category Merchandising — influence leaders on
pricing rules, guardrails, and governance
- Partner cross-functionally with Promotions Analytics, Competitive Intelligence, Product, Tech, Business Strategy, and analytics teams; guide tool development and reporting capabilities
- Develop
pricing frameworks, direct modeling and analytics work, and self-serve data (SQL, R,
Python)
- Coach and develop 2 analysts on analytical approaches,
stakeholder management, and business acumen
- Communicate
pricing strategy, findings, and multi-year outlooks to senior leadership through clear, concise narratives
- Stay current with food, retail, market news, and natural products trends
A day in the life
You review
pricing performance data, then meet with
Pricing Science to help refine a new model for category-level recommendations. Mid-morning, you present governance recommendations to Category
Pricing and Merchandising leaders. After lunch, you coach an analyst on framing a
pricing opportunity analysis for leadership. Later, you connect with a Product partner on tool enhancements and draft a section of your quarterly
pricing strategy outlook. You close by fielding a cross-category
pricing question from Business Strategy — the kind of cross-business thinking that makes this role distinctive.
- 2+ years of program or project management experience
- 5+ years of data analysis experience
- Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
- 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
- Master's degree, or MBA in BI, finance, engineering, statistics, computer science, mathematics, finance or equivalent quantitative field
- Knowledge of general AI tools
- Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
