As an Environmental Program Manager, you will be responsible for environmental compliance at
AWS manufacturing facilities in the Central AMER region. You will assist in facility permitting and development, develop standards and policies to support regulatory compliance, complete environmental performance analysis, establish and monitor metrics, and guide the teams in implementation of Amazon environmental programs. You will provide guidance and build effective relationships with internal and external partners, including government entities, contractors, consultants, design, construction, operations and other key stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities
- Performing due diligence and permitting for new manufacturing faculties.
- Develop new compliance programs for first of a kind operational processes.
- Manage and oversee compliance with environmental regulations and Amazon policy;
- Drive an environmentally responsible culture within the organization;
- Ensure work performed by contractors, consultants, and employees is completed in accordance with Amazon standards;
- Develop environmental metrics to measure, monitor and forecast performance;
- Conduct thorough and accurate environmental audits for continuous improvement;
- Prioritize and manage multiple technically complex assignments concurrently;
- Represent Amazon at appropriate levels with governmental agencies and throughout the company;
- Build collaborative relationships with various stakeholders to ensure risks are identified early and managed appropriately;
- Assist in time-critical report submission to various governmental agencies;
- Complete thorough and accurate environmental incident investigations and associated regulatory reports and develop appropriate corrective action.

- Experience in environmental compliance and permitting, waste management, contractual, regulatory, and liability assessments, environmental permit evaluations and applications, EIAs and water discharge requirements
- BA/BS degree in biology, environmental science, chemistry, chemical or environmental engineering, or related field of study
- Broad knowledge of US environmental regulations
- 5+ years of environmental, regulatory and risk management experience
- Experience developing and implementing environmental compliance programs including regulated waste, water, and air regulations in accordance with applicable laws
- Experience in a fast paced, dynamic organization
- Experience managing multiple projects, prioritizing, planning, and managing time
- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
- Experience leading change in multiple site environments and influenceing those that are not direct reports or within your organization
- Experience with due diligence and permitting for manufacturing faculties
- Experience successfully implementing environmental systems and compliance programs in a manufacturing settings

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
